Success at Social Tech Training

one on one session

STT 2009 wrapped up to applause from all sides. By the end of an intense three days, participants were energized and better prepared to start implementing new online tools and fresh ideas back at their own organizations.

This is where the toughest work, and the most tangible part of the Social Tech Training takes place—when the people at the front lines of social change begin making new in-roads into online engagement, participation and collaboration. The sector is ready to embrace these new ideas, and during the week we were thankful to have prominent organizations like Greenpeace, WWF and UNICEF learning side by side with dynamic, but less well known, initiatives like Shelternet, ACORN Canada and the Wellesley Institute.

What they share is a passion for social justice and a better world and a willingness to share. All of the 65 participants are now back with their organizations, armed with deeper understanding of technology, new connections, and a larger network of support that will help grow future campaigns.

We’ll have lot’s more stories on the event in the coming weeks. For those who couldn’t attend, be sure to check out the presentation slides for our sessions.
