Dear WOC,
In October, we stood in a gigantic circle in Big Sur wrapping this year's Web of Change at Esalen. It was a powerful experience. Here are some of the highlights:
- Check out this beautiful visualization, drawn by WOC alumni Jackie Mahendra, from Mia Birdsong's session about expanding empathy and compassion in our movements and beyond.
- Mariana Ruiz led a session on understanding structures and systems of oppression and leading insurgencies for racial justice and equity in our organizations and movements.
- Amanda Kloer and Gibran Rivera got us thinking about how speculative fiction and sic-fi design can help us imagine different ways people can live, work, be together and see different forms of community.
I hope this gives you a bit of a view into some topics we explored at Web of Change. Thanks to everyone who helped to make this year's conference special and we hope to see you there next year!
