We Have an Almost Infinite Capacity for Compassion

Genuine, thought-provoking conversations that challenge conventional wisdom and urge us to innovate are at the heart of Web of Change. That's why I want to share this recent blog post by longtime Web of Changer and fundraising guru, Mark Rovner.

In There's no such thing as compassion fatigue, Mark calls fundraisers' preoccupation with "compassion fatigue" into question.

Backed up by neuroscientists, social psychologists and Buddhist meditation masters, Mark says we can flip a donor's emotional experience from negative to positive by distinguishing between empathy and compassion.

Check out Mark's post to learn more about how compassion and empathy work together to inspire us to donate and help. Don't miss the link to an interesting discussion of the research and its implications for care workers.
