WOC 2010 Dates Announced!

Kiakum

Mark your calendars for Sept 22-26, 2010.  This will be the 10th anniversary of the Web of Change conference at Hollyhock.  It has grown from 35 to 90 participants over those 10 years!  It has grown both in size and scope but always looking for ways to harnass the power of the internet to effect social change.

A Photo Says A Thousand Words

Given the large number of photos uploaded to flickr you'd think we had organized cameras snapping at every opportunity during Web of Change!  Instead our enthusiastic participants supplied us with this fantastic selection. Big thanks to the many that uploaded their photos to flickr and made them available for us all to enjoy.  It is so heartwarming to look through them all and remember the connections, the inspirations, and the many laughs we had together.  We hope you'll enjoy this slide show.

Success at Web of Change 2009

Web of Change 2009 ended last month and everyone we spoke to felt it was a great success.  A group of 93 top-notch leaders and do-ers converged to learn, discuss and inquire into the roots of social change and technology and what it means to be leaders in this field.  Over 5 days, the group shared stories, best practices and their passions and commitment to envision and create a better world.  Hollyhock was abuzz with great conversations and heartfelt exchange.

Here are some of the reasons why:

Getting the last bums on seats in the countdown to WOC!

We are just one week away from the 9th annual Web of Change!  I'm really looking forward to driving up the coast to Cortes and settling in for an inspiring, fully dynamic and powerful gathering!

Sponsorships for Climate Change!

Nitobi Software co-founders Andre Charland and Dave Johnson have both experienced and been inspired by Web of Change in the past. This year they wanted to give back to the Web of Change community, so they've donated funds to provide five additional scholarships for those of you working with Climate Change organizations and initiatives.

WOC’ers love us so much!!

An inspiring email arrived last week from Ted Fickes, a past Web of Change alumnus, who had seen our announcement about the 10 tuition scholarships that we are giving away.   His email was spurred by the tuition scholarship announcement, but not as you would think.  Rather than submitting an application, he wanted to add to the pool of funds and help others attend!  Why?  Inspiration moved to action, and I quote:  “[I] had tons of crazy and great conversations, started friendsh

WOC Agenda is posted!

Finally - I‘ve posted this years Agenda!  Check it out!  It's a work in progress and more sessions will be added and fleshed out over the coming weeks.  Already, we have a collection of great sessions: from successful viral engagement that sparks change, to charitable giving, helping orgs get tech savvy and transformative design strategies.

Web of Change – 10 FREE SEATS!!!

That’s right, we have 10 FREE FULL TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS to give away!!!

Web of Change is just 6 short weeks away and we want you to join us!

We are working hard here in the WOC headquarters, as we prepare for the 8th annual Web of Change gathering.  We’re seeing amazing momentum build for this event and we want it to be as epic as ever!

We Are Ready for You!

Web of Change helps the people who help the world. As the primary gathering for values-driven digital strategists, online campaigners, technology providers, and social entrepreneurs, the connections and insights at WOC 2009 aren’t to be found anywhere else. Momentum is building for this years gathering, coming up Sept 23-27, will you be there?

WOC Sponsors Get It

Web of Change is an expensive event to produce. Well, it is and it isn't: compared to big city conferences, our budget is very small (esp for the impact we have!). What keeps our costs low is the  peer produced nature of the event: we receive an incredible amount of what I call "distributed generosity" and contributions from our passionate community that help the event happen each year.

July 22nd Deadline for Session Proposals Approaching Fast!

There is less than a week left to get in your session proposal for Web of Change!  If you have a topic or idea that you think would make an interesting session then take a look at the session proposal form to help hone your idea into a clearly articulated session.

Registration at Hollyhock is Now Open

We are excited to announce that Web of Change registration is now open! The conference sells out fast, early registration is advised!

Success at Social Tech Training

one on one session

STT 2009 wrapped up to applause from all sides. By the end of an intense three days, participants were energized and better prepared to start implementing new online tools and fresh ideas back at their own organizations.

This is where the toughest work, and the most tangible part of the Social Tech Training takes place.

STT Presentation Slides Available Online

Social Tech Training was sold out weeks before the event, with a waiting list of more than 90 people. Although we couldn't accommodate everyone at the event itself, we'll be making as much material available as possible.

See below for links to each day's presentation slides, courtesy of the Net Change Week organizing team. Check them out, and leave your thoughts on other resources our readers should know about.
