STT and a Week of Net Change
Social Tech Training began last year as an idea – an idea that the growing social change movement and the emerging tools of web 2.0 could come together to form a more powerful system, and community, to address our world’s toughest challenges.
The overwhelming success of 2008 is growing further this year. Our masters level training is joined this year by and the introductory web skills offering by CanadaHelps.org called MyCharityConnects. This 100 level offering will form the perfect complement to STT’s advanced strategy, and both will feature as the lead offerings of Net Change – a week long, city wide event embracing technology, social change and Toronto’s broader community of digital professionals and change-makers.
Openness and collaboration are two of the founding values of Web of Change, and the growth of this year’s offering is a testament to the transformative power of new technology and shared action. Keeping with this spirit of openness, we're working to make all of our decisions and process more transparent and you can see the fruits of that labour throughout webofchang.com. We've posted our complete STT agenda, outlined our cutting edge and innovative training approach for this year, and offered more information on all eight of the talented professionals who will be leading this year's training sessions.
