Opening Up Leadership at Open Everything

I've just come back from the latest Web of Change conference, held two weeks ago at Hollyhock Retreat Centre on Cortes Island called Open Everything. I had the pleasure of being the logistics coordinator and onsite support person for the event.

Open Everything

September 3-6 I’ll be joining the Web of Change team to co-host an event called Open Everything at Hollyhock that seeks to explore what this second stage of open will look like and how it can be made more successful, not just in the world of Linux and Microsoft, but across all areas — software, hardware, philanthropy, public policy, business, etc..

In short, what does being “open” mean? What will it mean? And what could it mean?

It's Not About the Web :: Learnings from the STT

Last week we convened Canada's first ever intensive web training event for the social change sector.

Sold Out!

While it's never fun to have to turn interested people away, we're delighted to announce that the Social Tech Training is sold out.

With just over a week to go, we're very excited to be bringing together such a talented and diverse group of people for three days of intensive learning.

If you were hoping to attend, and missed your chance to register, please send an email to [email protected]. We'll put you on the waiting list, and make sure to keep you appraised of future events!

Social Tech Training '08 is Filling Fast

With just less than four weeks to go, the Social Tech Training is starting to fill up quickly. If you've been thinking about attending this unique learning opportunity, please don't wait too long to get registered.

Open Everything Gets Rolling

We're really excited to let you know about the Open Everything Retreat, coming this fall to Hollyhock. Former WOC convener Mark Surman is at the helm, supported by Jason Mogus, David Eaves, and Mike Lewkowitz.

STT Agenda Now Available

We’ve been hard at work the past few weeks, putting together a strong and comprehensive agenda for the Social Tech Training. Working with a team of experienced social tech leaders, our biggest challenge has been to choose what to focus on! Many of the topics we’ve selected could be entire workshops in and of themselves.

STT 2008 Website Launched

We're really excited about this workshop – it's our biggest event of this year, we've got a handful of talented Web of Changers on faculty, and we're working with a terrific team at MaRS. Plus, the agenda is shaping up to be amazing – to our knowledge, there is no other training like this.

Web of Change Hits Toronto!

We are very excited to announce an exciting new venture for the Web of Change tea. Together with MaRS in Toronto, we are co-producing a three-day Social Tech Training for the social change sector – June 22-24, 2008.

We're Full!

With almost a month left to go before Web of Change 2007, we're delighted to find ourselves at capacity already. We're delighted because it means that we're gearing up for our biggest event yet – for four days packed with brilliant people, engaging conversation, lots of learning, and lots of fun.

Draft Agenda now Available

Our draft agenda is now available. We've identified five key themes, and are in the process of deciding on the best sessions and the best leaders to bring those themes to life.

Now Accepting Applications

As many of you know, we hold Web of Change at Hollyhock because it is an amazing place and because we believe that as a venue, it contributes a great deal to the overall impact of our event. At the same time, however, holding the event at Hollyhock also means that we simply don't have room for everyone who wants to attend Web of Change.

Get Your 2007 Badges Here

Some of you may remember our sweet badges from last year – giving anyone the opportunity to proclaim their WOC pride to the whole internet. Well we've updated them for 2007, and you're in the right place if you'd like one.

Ramping Up for '07!

Web of Change 2007 is starting to come alive. We're re-energizing our vision for this year and we're excited. Stay tuned, because within the next few weeks we'll be updating this website with all the information you need.
