About Web of Change

The roots of Web of Change are in a small annual gathering at Hollyhock Retreat Centre, on Cortes Island, BC. Founded in 2001, this intimate and transformative annual event brought together a diverse group of social change leaders every September, growing in size and scope every year. Eight years on, Web of Change has helped to create an inspiring network of online innovators around the world.

In 2008, we made the decision not to hold our annual event at Hollyhock. Instead, we co-produced the Social Tech Training in Toronto, which marked our first full-length urban event. We also helped to create the first-ever Open Everything retreat at Hollyhock. Both events were a great success, and have helped to grow our community into something even richer.

We look forward to bringing new energy, new people, and new passion to our next Web of Change conference at Hollyhock. Mark your calendars now – September 23 - 27, 2009. Registration will be open in the new year!

testimonials

"If you have a chance to go, I strongly recommend it. Beyond the amazing setting (Hollyhock is right out of a fairytale), you will meet and interact with committed, knowledgeable people who live and breathe technology and online strategy. (I also learned almost as much about myself at this conference as I did about web-based campaigns.) "
