Opening Up Leadership at Open Everything

Since its inception in 2001, Web of Change has evolved from a yearly retreat to a series of community building conferences organized by Communicopia. Web of Change brings together tech-savvy social change leaders to hone their skills, connect with other leaders, and refresh their passion for work, change, and innovation.

Opening Up Leadership at Open Everything

I've just come back from the latest Web of Change conference, held two weeks ago at Hollyhock Retreat Centre on Cortes Island called Open Everything. I had the pleasure of being the logistics coordinator and onsite support person for the event.

The Open Everything Wiki

Keeping to the spirit of the event, the Open Everything Retreat at Hollyhock utilized an event wiki to make all resources about travel, attendees, sessions and agendas availabe to all. The wiki continues to be available at http://openeverything.wik.is/Retreat_wiki.

The Evolution of Open - Notes from Open Everything

graph on openness

Day 1 of Open Everything at Hollyhock has passed and I’m now up far too late blogging about it.

Numerous insights, but possibly the most interesting occurred during the spectrogram exericse where we asked participants to physically locate themselves along an axis (in our case a piece of tape along the floor) in response to questions we asked them.

Open Everything

September 3-6 I’ll be joining the Web of Change team to co-host an event called Open Everything at Hollyhock that seeks to explore what this second stage of open will look like and how it can be made more successful, not just in the world of Linux and Microsoft, but across all areas — software, hardware, philanthropy, public policy, business, etc..

In short, what does being “open” mean? What will it mean? And what could it mean?

Open Everything Gets Rolling

We're really excited to let you know about the Open Everything Retreat, coming this fall to Hollyhock. Former WOC convener Mark Surman is at the helm, supported by Jason Mogus, David Eaves, and Mike Lewkowitz.
